Vacation is the perfect excuse to indulge guilt-free in food and drinks. From specialty cocktails to discounted appetizers, here are a few top picks when you’re traveling on a budget, or just want something lighter than a full meal. You can treat yourself without breaking the bank with these sweet deals!

  1. Simon and Seafort’s

For not one but two daily happy hours, check out Simon and Seafort’s in Anchorage. From 3–6 p.m. and 9–close, you can taste some of Alaska’s best fine dining. The happy hour menu features everything from sweet potato fries (gluten free!) to fresh oysters. Everyone is sure to find something to enjoy, there’s even a little something for dessert.

  1. Orso

When the first thing on the menu is king crab corndogs, you know you’re in for a treat! Orso in Anchorage features local ingredients in many of their dishes and offers appetizer specials every day from 3–6 p.m. and 9–close. We recommend pairing your apps with one of their specialty cocktails or non-alcoholic mocktails.

  1. Friar Tuck’s Hoagie House

Lovers of wings, cheese fries and football, rejoice! Friar Tuck’s in Fairbanks has half-priced apps every day from 3–5 p.m. and $5 orders of wings during Thursday night NFL games. They also have plenty of Alaska brews on tap and a couple of domestics, too, for all the creatures of habit in your party.

  1. Rafter’s Lounge

Located inside the Kenai Princess Riverside Lodge, this is the best place to enjoy a cocktail or Alaska microbrew on a deck overlooking the beautiful scenery of the Kenai. The Rafter’s Lounge is perfect for lodge guests who want to relax without leaving the property. The appetizers are certainly enough to substitute for dinner but if you’re still hungry, there are plenty of additional options available.

  1. Lynx Creek

Pizza, ice cream and beer, need we say more? The best thing about pizza is that you can feed the whole family with one! Lynx Creek is a local favorite at the Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge. You can enjoy the atmosphere of an Alaska log cabin or have it delivered to your room. Some killer appetizers include Buffalo bread knots and Nenana nachos. Another plus, they’re open until midnight to feed all your late-night cravings!
