McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge on Denali’s south side—plus seamless transportation in between and great service all along the way.
How Do Our Rail Tours Work?
Before booking, it’s important to understand your options and how Princess Alaska Rail Tours work. For example, Alaska Railroad owns and operates the tracks and locomotives on our tours. Princess Tours hires Alaska Railroad to pull our own luxury glass-domed rail cars when and where we’d like to go. This means we work with the Alaska Railroad to deliver the quality Princess experience on every step of your journey—from the depot to your hotel and back again.
Princess Alaska Rail Tours offer two types of tours:
Blue Denali Rail Tours leave from Fairbanks, Anchorage or Seward and include 1-4 overnights along the way in Denali National Park, McKinley (near Talkeetna) or both, but do not include overnights in either the departure or arrival cities of Anchorage, Fairbanks or Seward. These tours include accommodations, baggage and transfers from the rail depot to your hotel in McKinley and/or Denali National Park.
Yellow Denali Rail Tours are 3-4 nights and start and end with an overnight in both the departure and arrival cities of Anchorage and Fairbanks in addition to overnights in Denali National Park, McKinley (near Talkeetna) or both. Tours 93K and 93 do not include accommodations in Seward. These yellow tours include accommodations, baggage and transfers from your all of your hotels and to/from all rail depots.
Please note: Any rail tours to/from Fairbanks to Denali do not travel via Princess rail cars, but instead travel aboard Alaska Railroad’s Adventure Class service (does not include meals or dome windows, but offers picture windows), or upgrade to GoldStar service for an additional $100 per person (includes meals and a glass dome for premier viewing).Find the Perfect Alaska Rail Tour
