 Prices include a compact car.  During checkout you will have the ability to upgrade to a full-size car for $100 per car or a small SUV for $350 per car.

Day 1: Anchorage

Arrive in Anchorage and we will transfer you from the airport to your hotel. Spend the day exploring Alaska's largest city at your leisure. Overnight Anchorage hotel.

Day 2: Anchorage – Cooper Landing (100 miles)

  • Overnight:
    Cooper Landing

This morning, pick up your rental car at the downtown Avis. Simply give the Avis office a call and they will pick you up for a transfer to the car lot. Then, journey south towards the charming town of Cooper Landing. But first make a stop for an included cruise aboard the mv Ptarmigan to the face of Portage glacier. Continue along the Turnagain Arm and stop for the evening at a gorgeous lodge overlooking the Kenai river. Overnight Kenai Princess Wilderness Lodge.

Day 3: Cooper Landing - Seward (47 miles)

Enjoy a leisurely morning before jumping back in the car and traveling further into the Kenai peninsula to the port town of Seward. Embark on the Kenai Fjords National Park Cruise, taking in the sights of Alaska's rugged coastline and abundance of marine wildlife. Back on shore, travel just a few miles to your destination for the evening. Overnight Seward Windsong Lodge. (L)

Day 4: Seward – Talkeetna (240 miles)

Drive north to Talkeetna and explore the town that serves as a base camp for Mt. McKinley climbers. Overnight at a beautiful lodge located 50 miles North of Talkeetna in Denali State Park. Upon arrival to the lodge, experience an optional jet boat or flightseeing tour that takes you around the pinnacles of Mt. McKinley, North America’s tallest peak. Overnight Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge.

Day 5: Talkeetna – Denali (105 miles)

Today, explore Denali’s south side or depart early for the drive to Denali National Park. You'll have as much time as you like to experience the majesty of Denali National Park, take in the sights of the George Parks Highway or arrive at your hotel near the park entrance to take advantage of an optional excursion or a visit to the Denali Visitor Center. Overnight Denali-area hotel.

Day 6: Denali

This morning embark on a Tundra Wilderness Tour for opportunities to see bears, caribou, moose, wolves and Dall sheep. The bus will pick you up at your hotel and travel into the park on the famous Denali National Park Road. Once you're back at your hotel, the rest of the day is yours to simply relax or venture out to experience even more of the Denali area. Overnight Denali-area hotel. (S)

Day 7: Denali - Fairbanks (123 miles)

This morning, drive north to Fairbanks, Alaska’s Golden Heart City. Make your way to the Riverboat landing for your lunch and cruise on the Chena and Tanana rivers aboard an authentic sternwheeler. Overnight Fairbanks hotel. (L)

Day 8: Fairbanks

This morning, drop your car at the airport Avis office at the conclusion of your tour.

Pick up your rental car at the airport and then drive a short distance to your accommodations for the night. Spend the day exploring Alaska's second largest city at your leisure. Overnight Fairbanks hotel.

Day 2: Fairbanks - Denali (123 miles)

This morning, make your way to Riverboat landing for a cruise on the Chena and Tanana rivers aboard an authentic sternwheeler. Afterwards, grab lunch on the river's edge before departing the city for Denali National Park. Overnight Denali-area hotel. (L)

Day 3: Denali

Spend your morning to simply relax or venture out to experience even more of the Denali area. Day 5: Talkeetna - Cooper Landing (240 miles)

Drive south down the Parks highway towards Cooper Landing, located on Alaska's Kenai Peninsula. But first, stop for a glacier cruise aboard the mv Ptargmigan, where you'll cruise to the face of Portage glacier. Afterward, continue on the Turnagain Arm to your accommodations for the evening, located on the banks of the Kenai River. Overnight Kenai Princess Wilderness Lodge.

Day 6: Cooper Landing - Seward (47 miles)

Head back to Anchorage today taking in the sights of the Seward Highway as you go. Keep an eye out for beluga whales making their way towards the Cook Inlet or for Dall Sheep combing the mountainsides. Enjoy a leisurely evening upon arrival into Anchorage. Overnight Anchorage hotel.

Day 8: Anchorage

Drop your car off at the airport Avis office at the conclusion of your tour.
