Included in your Tour:

Package includes 6 nights hotel accommodations, rail travel from Anchorage to Denali and from Denali to Fairbanks, Music of Denali Dinner Theater at McKinley Chalet Resort in Denali, Tundra Wilderness Tour in Denali and Gold panning and Riverboat Discovery Sternwheeler cruise with lunch in Fairbanks. Upgrade your rail experience from Denali to Fairbanks for $100 per person. The standard tour features Alaska Railroad’s Adventure Class for this rail component of the tour. When you choose the upgrade, you will travel aboard Alaska Railroad's Goldstar service instead.  Adventure Class railcars do not feature a dome and meals are available for purchase.  Goldstar service is aboard Alaska Railroad’s domed railcars and dinner aboard the train is included.  

With the standard option, rail travel from Anchorage to Talkeetna and Talkeetna to Denali is aboard our own luxury, glass-domed rail service (meals not included, but available for purchase) and the upgrade option applies only to the portion of the trip from Denali to Fairbanks.

Day 1: Anchorage

After we transport you to your hotel, explore Alaska’s largest city, and get your vacation in Alaska off to the perfect start. Overnight Anchorage.

Day 2: Anchorage - Mt. McKinley Lodge

Depart Anchorage this morning by luxury rail for your journey to the Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge, featuring spectacular views of Denali. Overnight Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge.

Day 3: Mt. McKinley Lodge - Denali

    McKinley, 12:35 PM (Train Departs Talkeetna Depot)
  • Arrives At:
    Denali, 4:40 PM (Train Arrives Denali Depot)

Transfer to Talkeetna where you'll re-board a luxury railcar to continue your Alaska tour to Denali National Park. Enjoy stunning views of the Alaska and Talkeetna mountain ranges and keep an eye out for the elusive Denali. You’ll arrive at Denali early enough to enjoy an optional activity like hiking or fly fishing. This evening, enjoy an unforgettable dinner experience at Music of Denali Dinner Theater at McKinley Chalet Resort. Overnight Denali-area hotel.

Day 4: Denali

Venture into Denali National Park on the popular Tundra Wilderness Tour, your best chance to view wildlife in Alaska. If the skies are clear, you’ll enjoy awesome views of Denali, North America’s tallest peak. Later, choose from optional activities and end your day on a high note with a visit to a sled dog kennel, flightseeing adventure or ATV ride. Overnight Denali-area hotel.

Day 5: Denali - Fairbanks

    Denali, 4:00 PM (Train Departs Denali Depot)
  • Arrives At:
    Fairbanks, 8:00 PM (Train Arrives Fairbanks Depot)

Enjoy a morning at leisure or choose an optional golfing or ATV adventure! Later, board the train to continue your journey into Alaska’s amazing interior. Transfer to your hotel in Fairbanks upon arrival. Overnight Fairbanks.

Day 6: Fairbanks

    Fairbanks

Visit Gold Dredge 8, pan for gold and learn about modern day gold mining. Later, transfer to Steamboat Landing, located on the banks of the Chena River, and enjoy a hearty lunch. After lunch, enjoy a river cruise aboard the Riverboat Discovery, an authentic sternwheeler. You’ll experience Alaska’s diverse cultural heritage as you float by log cabins, visit the kennel of an Iditarod champion and see a bush pilot performance. Overnight Fairbanks.

Day 7: Fairbanks

Your tour ends with a transfer to the airport.
