Embark on an unforgettable adventure in Alaska on this 7-day tour that takes you through Denali National Park and Preserve, home of the 20,320-foot Denali; the Golden Heart City of Fairbanks; the state’s largest city of Anchorage; and the beautiful waters and glaciers of Prince William Sound. Travel on the historic Alaska Railroad route, passing mountains, rivers and scenic vistas along the way. Experience wilderness, history and culture and enjoy deluxe accommodations as you immerse yourself in the vibrant beauty of the Great Land.

Available during check-out:
Upgrade your rail experience from Fairbanks to Denali for $100 per person. The standard tour features Alaska Railroad’s Adventure Class for this rail component of the tour. When you choose the upgrade, you will travel aboard Alaska Railroad's GoldStar service instead.  Adventure Class railcars do not feature a dome and meals are available for purchase.  GoldStar service is aboard Alaska Railroad’s domed railcars and breakfast aboard the train is included.  

With the standard option, rail travel from Denali to Anchorage is aboard our own luxury, glass-domed rail service (meals not included, but available for purchase) and the upgrade applies only to the portion of the trip from Fairbanks to Denali.

Day 1: Fairbanks

Day 2: Fairbanks

Relive the gold rush with a visit to Gold Dredge 8 and a cruise aboard an authentic sternwheeler riverboat with lunch included. Enjoy the evening in Alaska's Golden Heart city. Overnight Fairbanks hotel. (L, S)

Day 3: Fairbanks - Denali

    Denali, 12:10 PM (Train Arrives Denali Depot)

Step aboard Alaska Railroad's Adventure Class rail service and travel south along the Alaska Railroad route to Denali National Park and Preserve. Transfer to your hotel and enjoy a relaxing afternoon or visit the Tour Desk to book an optional excursion. Overnight at a Denali-area hotel.

Day 4: Denali

Embark on a guided tour which will take you along the only ribbon of road in the six million acres of wilderness that make up the park. As you travel, watch for the Denali “Big Five” – grizzly bears, moose, caribou, wolves and Dall sheep, along with smaller animals that include pika, weasels, Arctic ground squirrels and beavers. This evening includes dinner and a show at Music of Denali Dinner Theater. Overnight Denali hotel. (S, D)

Day 5: Denali - Anchorage

    Anchorage, 5:15 PM (Train Arrives Anchorage Depot)

Travel by luxurious domed railcar to Anchorage — a great opportunity to spot the mountain and various wildlife. Overnight Anchorage Hotel.

Day 6: Anchorage - Whittier - Anchorage

    Anchorage

Travel to Whittier where you’ll embark on a 5-hour Prince William Sound cruise for an opportunity to view fjords, glaciers and sealife.  Return to Anchorage by motor coach and enjoy your final evening. Overnight Anchorage hotel. (L)

Day 7: Anchorage

Spend the morning exploring more of Anchorage’s largest city. Take a stroll along the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail that offers majestic views of Cook Inlet and surrounding mountains, or head downtown for breakfast at a local eatery. Later, transfer to the airport where your Alaska adventure comes to an end.
