Perfect for travelers departing Fairbanks and wishing to see Denali National Park, the ice-blue glaciers of Prince William Sound and Alaska's largest city, Anchorage.

Included in your Tour:

Package includes 5 nights hotel accommodations, Gold panning and Riverboat Discovery Sternwheeler cruise with lunch in Fairbanks, rail travel from Fairbanks to Denali and from Denali to Anchorage, Tundra Wilderness Tour in Denali and Prince William Sound Glacier Cruise with lunch. Airport, hotel, rail transfers and baggage handling included. Be sure to check for specials and offers.


Available during check-out:
Upgrade your rail experience from Fairbanks to Denali for $100 per person. The standard tour features Alaska Railroad’s Adventure Class for this rail component of the tour. When you choose the upgrade, you will travel aboard Alaska Railroad's Goldstar service instead.  Adventure Class railcars do not feature a dome and meals are available for purchase.  Goldstar service is aboard Alaska Railroad’s domed railcars and breakfast aboard the train is included.  

With the standard option, rail travel from Denali to Talkeetna and Talkeetna to Anchorage is aboard our own luxury, glass-domed rail service (meals not included, but available for purchase) and the upgrade applies only to the portion of the trip from Fairbanks to Denali.

Day 1: Fairbanks

Transfer from the airport to your hotel. Early arrival? Enjoy a day at leisure or choose an optional tour to the Alaska Salmon Bake and Golden Palace Theatre or Chena Hot Springs. Overnight Fairbanks.

Day 2: Fairbanks

    Fairbanks

Visit Gold Dredge 8, pan for gold and learn about modern day gold mining. Later, transfer to Steamboat Landing, located on the banks of the Chena River, and enjoy a hearty lunch. When you're finished with lunch, board the Riverboat Discovery, an authentic sternwheeler, for a ride on the Chena and Tanana rivers. Overnight Fairbanks.

Day 3: Fairbanks - Denali

  • Departs From:
    Fairbanks, 8:15 AM (Train Departs Fairbanks Depot)
  • Arrives At:
    Denali, 12:15 PM (Train Arrives Denali Depot)

Transfer from the Westmark Fairbanks Hotel to the rail depot. Journey along the historic Alaska Railroad with Adventure Class service, southbound to Denali National Park. Upon arrival to Denali, transfer to the Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge. Take advantage of our Tour Desk, where helpful staff can help plan all of your Denali area activities. Overnight at Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge.

Day 4: Denali - Anchorage

    Anchorage

Re-board the train and sightsee to Anchorage crossing Hurricane Gulch and passing small towns, flag stops, farmlands, and homesteads. Overnight Anchorage.

Day 5: Anchorage - Whittier - Anchorage

  • Overnight:
    Anchorage

Depart Anchorage this morning for the port town of Whittier. Enjoy the sights on the scenic Turnagain Arm and travel through North America’s longest shared rail-vehicle tunnel. Upon arrival in Whittier, you’ll embark on a 5-hour cruise excursion and glacier tour into Prince William Sound. You will come face to face with glacier-carved fjords and see the tidewater glaciers of Barry Arm. Bring your binoculars to look for whales, sea otters and several species of seabirds while enjoying your hot lunch on board. After the cruise, return to Anchorage. Overnight Anchorage.

Day 6: Anchorage

Your tour ends with a transfer to the airport.
