Included in your Tour:

Package includes 5 nights hotel accommodations, Prince William Sound Glacier Cruise with lunch, rail travel from Anchorage to Denali and from Denali to Fairbanks, Tundra Wilderness Tour in Denali and Gold panning and Riverboat Discovery Sternwheeler cruise with lunch in Fairbanks. Available at check-out: 
Upgrade your rail experience from Denali to Fairbanks for $100 per person. The standard tour features Alaska Railroad’s Adventure Class for this rail component of the tour. When you choose the upgrade, you will travel aboard Alaska Railroad's Goldstar service instead.  Adventure Class railcars do not feature a dome and meals are available for purchase.  Goldstar service is aboard Alaska Railroad’s domed railcars and dinner aboard the train is included.  

With the standard option, rail travel from Anchorage to Talkeetna and Talkeetna to Denali is aboard our own luxury, glass-domed rail service (meals not included, but available for purchase) and the upgrade option applies only to the portion of the trip from Denali to Fairbanks.

Day 1: Anchorage

  • Overnight:

We’ll greet you at the airport and take you to your hotel. Relax and enjoy your overnight stay in downtown Anchorage. Overnight Anchorage.

Day 2: Anchorage - Whittier - Anchorage

  • Overnight:

Depart Anchorage this morning for the port town of Whittier. Enjoy the sights on the scenic Turnagain Arm and travel through North America’s longest shared rail-vehicle tunnel. Upon arrival in Whittier, you’ll embark on a 5-hour cruise excursion and glacier tour into Prince William Sound. You will come face to face with glacier-carved fjords and see the tidewater glaciers of Barry Arm. Bring your binoculars to look for whales, sea otters and several species of seabirds while enjoying your hot lunch on board. After the cruise, return to Anchorage. Overnight Anchorage.

Day 3: Anchorage - Denali

    Anchorage, 9:15 AM (Train Departs Anchorage Depot)
  • Arrives At:

Begin your rail adventure aboard luxury railcar as you depart the Anchorage Rail station. Enjoy spectacular views of the Alaska and Talkeetna mountain ranges as you journey north to Denali National Park. You’ll cross over Hurricane Gulch, a 296-foot-high bridge and one of the Alaska Railroad’s many engineering marvels before pulling into the Denali rail depot. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel. The evening is yours to fill with independent exploration or optional outdoor activities. Overnight Denali-area hotel.

Day 4: Denali - Fairbanks

    Denali, 4:15 PM (Train Departs Denali Depot)
  • Arrives At:
    Fairbanks, 8:15 PM (Train Arrives Fairbanks Depot)

This morning, journey into Denali National Park & Preserve on the popular Tundra Wilderness Tour. Experience breathtaking scenery of this historic wildlife preserve and keep an eye out for the elusive Denali. Afterward, you’ll re-board a luxury railcar to travel deeper into Alaska’s exquisite interior as you continue north to Fairbanks. Transfer to your hotel upon arrival. Overnight Fairbanks.

Day 5: Fairbanks

  • Overnight:

Relive the gold rush at its height in Fairbanks. Visit Gold Dredge 8, pan for gold and learn about modern day gold mining. Then re-board the motorcoach and head to Steamboat Landing, located on the banks of the Chena River, for a hearty lunch. After your meal, board the Riverboat Discovery, an authentic sternwheeler, for a ride on the Chena and Tanana rivers. Overnight Fairbanks.

Day 6: Fairbanks

    Your tour ends with a transfer to the airport.
