Do something extraordinary! Land on a glacier in Denali National Park beneath North America’s tallest mountain— Denali (formerly Mt. McKinley). Your tour will take you into an ancient world of snow and ice with snow-capped mountains and glacier rivers of ice beneath the towering peaks of the Alaska range. Your pilot-guide will take you within six miles of Denali’s summit then up close to Mt. Foraker, Mt. Hunter and Denali. Fly over the winding Kahiltna Glacier—the longest glacier in Denali National Park measured at 45 miles long and three miles wide. You will see the climber’s Base Camp located at 7,200 feet on the southeast fork of the Kahiltna Glacier. Descend into the Sheldon Amphitheater where your plane will touch down on the gentle slope of the Ruth Glacier. Step out onto the snowy runway at 5,600 foot level of the Ruth Glacier. Enjoy the stillness of the mountains broken only by the far off rumble of rock and ice slides. As you stand among the granite peaks, you will understand the immense scale of the mountains surrounding you.
