Experience the breathtaking wilderness of Alaska on this 7-day tour that originates in Fairbanks and takes you through Denali National Park, Talkeetna and Anchorage. After arriving and spending time in Fairbanks, you will venture to Denali National Park where the 20,320-foot Denali, the highest peak in North America, often emerges from the clouds, granting perfect photo opportunities. Watch for grizzly bears, wolves, caribou and a wide variety of other wildlife including Arctic ground squirrels and bald eagles. Enjoy dinner and a show at the Music of Denali Dinner Theater at McKinley Chalet Resort featuring family-style dining and a spirited original musical about the first men to reach the summit of Denali. Continue to the Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge near the quaint town of Talkeetna to experience the south side of Denali. Your journey ends in Alaska's largest city, Anchorage.Included in your Tour:

Upgrade your rail experience from Fairbanks to Denali for $100 per person. The standard tour features Alaska Railroad’s Adventure Class for this rail component of the tour. When you choose the upgrade, you will travel aboard Alaska Railroad's GoldStar service instead. Adventure Class railcars do not feature a dome and meals are available for purchase. GoldStar service is aboard Alaska Railroad’s domed railcars and breakfast aboard the train is included.
With the standard option, rail travel from Denali to Talkeetna and Talkeetna to Anchorage is aboard our own luxury, glass-domed rail service (meals not included, but available for purchase) and the upgrade applies only to the portion of the trip from Fairbanks to Denali.
Unless noted, tour is not escorted and does not include meals, sightseeing or home city air.
Day 1: Fairbanks
Upon your arrival at the airport, we will transport you to your hotel. You will have the rest of the day to explore the Golden Heart City of Fairbanks. Overnight in Fairbanks.
Day 2: Fairbanks
Spend the day exploring Fairbanks, including a visit to Gold Dredge 8 where you will have the chance to pan for gold and learn about modern-day gold mining. Later, board the motor coach for a drive to Steamboat Landing, where you will enjoy a hearty lunch on the banks of the beautiful Chena River. After lunch, step aboard the Riverboat Discovery and find out what it’s like to cruise on an authentic sternwheeler. Along the river, experience Alaska’s diverse cultural heritage as you pass riverside log cabins, visit the kennel of an Iditarod champion and witness a bush pilot performance. Overnight in Fairbanks. Day 3: Fairbanks - Denali

Enjoy a scenic ride aboard the historic Alaska Railroad as you travel to Denali National Park. Watch for the majestic snow-covered peak of the "Great One" looming above the “smaller” mountains of the Alaska Range. Once you’ve arrived at Denali, choose from a variety of activities that including hiking and fishing. This evening, enjoy an unforgettable dinner experience at Music of Denali Dinner Theater at McKinley Chalet Resort. Overnight at a Denali-area hotel. (D)
Day 4: Denali
Immerse yourself in the six-million-acre wilderness of Denali National Park on a guided tour. Keep your eyes peeled for Denali’s “Big Five” – Dall sheep, caribou, grizzly bears, moose and wolves. Bring along binoculars to spot distant animals and have your camera ready. Later, choose from optional activities and end your day on a high note with a visit to a sled dog kennel or ATV ride. Day 5: Denali - Talkeetna

Arrives At:McKinley, 2:00 PM (Train Arrives Talkeetna Depot)
Before heading south along the Alaska Railroad route, start your day with optional activities that may include nine holes of golf surrounded by Alaska wilderness or an ATV adventure. Later, you will re-board the train to continue your journey to Talkeetna and the Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge. Once you’ve arrived, settle into your lodging for the evening and unwind after a full day. Overnight Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge.
Day 6: Talkeetna - Anchorage

Arrives At:Anchorage, 5:15 PM (Train Arrives Anchorage Depot)
This morning relax at the lodge and take in the amazing views from the Great Room or choose an optional excursion with the help of the onsite Tour Desk. In the afternoon, transfer to Talkeetna and reboard your luxury railcar and head south towards Anchorage. The glass-domed windows are perfect for viewing the passing scenery. Explore Alaska's largest city upon arrival, or simply relax into your overnight accommodations. Overnight Anchorage.
Day 7: Anchorage
The tour wraps up with a transfer from your hotel to the Anchorage airport. On the flight home, watch out the airplane window for spectacular views of snow-covered mountains and winding glaciers as you savor your memories of an incredible adventure.
