Copper River Princess Wilderness Lodge Well Underway

SANTA CLARITA, CA (December 13, 2001) - Nearly 70 percent of the construction for Princess' newest custom-built Alaska property, Copper River Princess Wilderness Lodge, has been completed. The exterior of the company's fifth riverside lodge has taken form, and interior fitting is well underway. Workers are currently installing mechanical and electrical systems, while painting, flooring, casework, plumbing and electrical fixture installation will begin in late December and continue through January. The structure is slated for completion in mid-March, with furniture and electronic equipment scheduled to arrive in April. Work has also begun on the grounds of the property, with installation of landscaping, utilities and signage. Final exterior design will be completed when weather permits in the spring.

"I'm certain that guests will be delighted with this new lodge and its stunning location," said Dean Brown, Princess' executive vice president of customer service and sales. "As with our other Alaska lodges, Copper River takes full advantage of its spectacular setting while offering all the comforts that have come to be an expected part of a Princess Alaska cruisetour."

The Copper River Princess Wilderness Lodge will debut in May, ready to provide Princess cruisetour passengers with the perfect place to relax and experience the last unspoiled wilderness of the 49th state, while enjoying incredible mountain vistas of the nation's largest national park, Wrangell-St. Elias, as well as views of the Copper and Klutina Rivers.

In keeping with its dramatic location, the 84-room property will combine the special architectural elements of historic national park lodges with old Alaskan mining buildings to create a unique environment for its visitors. Public areas include a signature two-story "Great Room" featuring a stone fireplace, 25-foot ceilings and stunning views of the awe-inspiring Mt. Wrangell, Mt. Drum and Mt. Blackburn.
