Journey Above the Arctic Circle
Fly over the vast and remote Yukon Flats National Wildlife Refuge, often called America's last great wilderness. One of the most important polar bear habitats in the country, the refuge is also home to Dall sheep, moose, musk, and grizzly and black bears. You'll soar over the majestic Brooks Range and Yukon River before landing at Fort Yukon, an area so remote, it's only accessible by air nine months out of the year. A Athabascan guide will take you on a tour of the Native Gwich'in village for a look into the unique and rugged Athabascan Indian way of life, from the time they settled the area centuries ago to how they live today. Before you depart for your flight back to Fairbanks you'll receive an official Arctic Circle Club Certificate verifying your trek to this out-of-the-ordinary travel destination.
