HISTORIC KENNICOTT & WRANGELL-ST. ELIAS FLIGHT ADVENTURE

The flight will traverse spectacular areas of the park, providing views of the highest peaks, large glaciers and icefalls, and allow aerial views of Kennicott mines and the frontier town of McCarthy. Receive a guided tour of Kennicott to experience what was once a mining boomtown and enjoy a hearty lunch at the Kennicott Glacier Lodge. A five mile van ride takes you on to McCarthy which served as a supply post and starting point for prospectors, hunters, and trappers. In the early 1900s there were hotels, saloons, gambling houses, and a thriving red light district. Tour through the McCarthy museum housing many artifacts and photographs and enjoy some free time in town for the local handicrafts and gift stores.
