Before you jump in the sled, it's important to know the basic dog sledding lingo, so you can look like a local and know how to control your dogs. If your dog sledding lingo is limited to "Mush!" read below, for tips on how to talk like a dog sledding pro.

Hike = Get Moving

Kissing Sound = Speed Up

Gee = Turn Right

Easy = Slow Down

Come Gee Come Haw = Command for 180 degree turn in either direction

Whoa = Halt

Trail = Command for right-of-way on trail
